WASHINGTON (April 2, 2025) – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today released a statement ahead of a vote on a Democrat resolution led by U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) to repeal President Trump’s executive order to halt fentanyl and human trafficking across our northern border, including placing tariffs on Canadian goods.

“President Trump uses tariffs to stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigrants across both our northern and southern borders. President Trump is right to do that,” said Dr. Cassidy. “I stand with President Trump.”
