LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. (Jan. 17, 2024) – A boil water advisory has been issued for certain areas, including J. Wallace James Elementary School, Carencro High School, Live Oak Elementary School, J.W. Faulk Elementary School, David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy, Evangeline Elementary School, Acadian Middle School, Northside High School, Truman Elementary School, and Alice Boucher Elementary School.

School is still in session tomorrow (January 18, 2024). All safety precautions are being followed to ensure students and staff are safe. Meals will be served and students are encouraged to bring a bottle of water if they can. Water refilling stations will be available and bottled water will be available for those unable to bring one.

The water system is operational, and hand sanitizer will be provided, so restrooms will function normally. The only issue is that water cannot be consumed until the boil water advisory has been lifted.
