BROUSSARD, LA (April 16, 2025) – The City of Broussard hosted an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Broussard Public Service Complex (BPSC) this evening. The BPSC represents a significant milestone for the growing city and is an important step toward making city operations more efficient and interconnected.

The BPSC includes the Broussard Police Department, Broussard Fire Department Administration, Broussard Public Works, and a City Staff Training Center. In 2023, the city purchased the buildings and property in this complex for $5.3 million. The structures have since been renovated to meet the needs of the departments.

Mayor Ray Bourque, Police Chief Vance Olivier, Assistant Chief Tony Ashy, Fire Chief Bryan Champagne, Public Service Director Mel Bertrand, and Lacy Viator from the Broussard Chamber of Commerce spoke to the attendees and expressed their pride in the city’s accomplishments prior to the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Members of the City Council, along with representatives from the Broussard Police and Fire Departments, were present at the ceremony. Additionally, District Attorney Don Landry of the 15th Judicial District attended, as well as several mayors: Chad Monceaux from Crowley, Julius Alsandor from Opelousas, and David Butler from Woodworth. Mark Garber from Lafayette Parish and representatives from the St. Martin Sheriff’s Department also participated in the event.

The BPSC covers 11.6 acres and includes four buildings located at 5801 Highway 90 East and 102, 106, and 110 Mayor Charles Langlinais Lane. Together, these properties provide 35,100 square feet of office space and 35,000 square feet of warehouse space.

Mayor Charles Langlinais Lane was formerly known as Bercegeay Road. In August 2024, the City Council renamed the road to honor Broussard’s former mayor, Charles Langlinais.

After the ceremony, attendees had the opportunity to tour the buildings and enjoy food provided by Chop’s Specialty Meats and Fezzo’s of Broussard.
