YOUNGSVILLE, LA (December 14, 2024) – The Bryan Family was honored as the 2024 Louisiana Tennis Association Family of the Year on December 7, 2024, at the Renaissance Hotel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The Bryan family has established a legacy of tennis excellence spanning four generations, starting with John and Evelyn Bryan of Youngsville. This recognition highlights the Bryans’ immense dedication to the sport and their enduring influence in Louisiana and beyond.
John, now 86, has been married to Evelyn for 67 years. He continues to teach tennis alongside his son, Bill Bryan, who is the tennis pro in Youngsville. Throughout his legendary career, John has mentored countless champions and collegiate players, establishing a strong foundation for his family’s significant impact on the sport.
John and Evelyn have four children: Bill, Boyd, Vaughn, and Mike. All of them have made a significant impact in tennis, with Bill taking the lead in Youngsville. Bill and his wife, Glenda, take pride in their children, Lindsay Bryan Bloom, who was a captain on the Ohio State Buckeyes tennis team, and Danny, who is the head men’s tennis coach at Louisiana State University (LSU).
Danny’s children, Parker and Brooklyn, are making waves in junior tennis, representing the fourth generation of this tennis dynasty.
