Broussard, LA (July 16, 2025) – The City of Broussard has free sandbags available for residents preparing for expected severe weather over the next few days.

“We’re offering free sandbags to our residents in preparation for possible flooding from the approaching heavy rains, as forecasted by the National Weather Service,” said Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque. “This is part of our effort to help protect property, but most importantly, we urge everyone to stay safe. Please avoid driving through flooded streets and roadways.

Sand and sandbags are available at the following locations:

  • Broussard City Hall – 310 E. Main St. (behind dumpsters)
  • Deer Meadow Subdivision – corner of Deer Meadow Blvd. and Myette Point
  • Broadview Dr. – by the Broussard Community Center

These sandbag stations are self-bagging and are open until the threat of heavy rain has passed. Residents will need to supply their own shovel and manpower.
