LLA Issues Performance Audit of GOEA

The Louisiana Legislative Auditor (LLA) issued a performance audit report on July 5, 2023, of the Governor’s Office of Elderly Affairs (GOEA) regarding its Elderly Protective Services (EPS) program.

In the LLA’s letter (included in the report) to Louisiana State Senator Page Cortez, President of the Louisiana Senate, and to Louisiana State Representative Clay Schexnayder, Speaker of the House of Representatives, the LLA states:

“This report provides the results of our performance audit of the Governor’s Office of Elderly Affairs (GOEA). The purpose of this audit was to evaluate GOEA’s oversight of cases of elder abuse and neglect in its Elderly Protective Services (EPS) program.”

The report contains the audit findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the LLA to GOEA. The documetn also contains the response from GOEA to LLA.
