LAFAYETTE, La. (Jan. 16, 2024) – In response to the ongoing extreme cold weather and below-freezing temperatures in the area, the Lafayette Parish School System has decided to extend the closure of all schools and facilities. All schools and facilities will remain closed on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
The safety of our school community remains our top priority. LPSS will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and anticipate the reopening of schools and facilities on Thursday, January 18, 2024. LPSS will provide updates to families and staff as the details become available.
