During last night’s (January 12, 2023) Youngsville City Council meeting, a new mayor pro tempore was selected by the city council members. Actually, two were selected with the two splitting the time during the term.
Matt Romero was selected to serve as mayor pro tempore from 2023-2024; Lindy Bolgiano was selected to serve from 2025-2026.
Previously serving as mayor pro tempore was Ken Stansbury.
“Pro tempore” in Latin means “for the time being”.
A mayor pro tempore has temporary authority due to a mayor’s absence, disability or vacancy in office. Upon the return of a mayor, the time of that service of mayor pro tempore terminates.
