Mayor Ray Bourque announced that the City of Broussard received a check of approximately $2.4 million from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD). The payment was for the rightsizing of Main Street through the Road Transfer Program. The LA DOTD payment to Broussard completes the process of the city taking over Main Street from the state. Bourque advised that the rightsizing of Main Street began around 2020, with a total amount of $3.2 million received by the city from the state for the project.
