PUBLIC NOTICE
Letters of interest are being accepted to fill a vacancy on the Youngsville Municipal Police Civil Service Board as the governing authority board member for a three (3) year term.
To be eligible for appointment or to serve as a member of this board, a person shall be a citizen of the United States of America, a resident of the municipality in which he/she is to serve for at least five years next preceding his/her appointment, and, at the time of his/her appointment, shall be a qualified voter of the municipality.
No person is eligible for appointment or may serve as a member of the board if he/she has been convicted of a felony and/or has committed a civil rights violation, as determined by a legally binding agreement or finding in the ten years immediately preceding his/her appointment. No member of a board shall have been during a period of six months immediately preceding his appointment a member of any local, state, or national committee of a political party or an officer or member of a committee in any factional political club or organization. No member of a board shall be a candidate for nomination or election to any public office or hold any other public office or position of public employment, except that of notary public, a military or naval official office, or that of a municipal fire or police department.
Deadline for submission is March 4, 2024. Please submit your letter of interest to nicoleguidry@youngsvillela.gov. The City Council will make the appointment at the March 14, 2024 City Council meeting.
The submission of your letter will be considered a public record and subject to production persuant to Louisiana Public Records Law.
