UPDATE: Boil Water Advisory in Effect for Specific Schools in Lafayette Parish

Lafayette, LA (January 27, 2025) – Boil water advisories have been lifted for all Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS) schools except Milton Elementary/Middle School and Ossun Elementary School, where the advisory remains in effect through Tuesday, January 28.

During this time, water from the system should not be consumed. Meals will be served, and bottled water will be available as needed. Students are encouraged to bring water bottles from home and be offered the opportunity to refill them with safe drinking water.

LPSS will continue monitoring the situation and provide updates as needed.

LAFAYETTE, LA (January 26, 2025) – Boil advisories are still in effect for water systems that service the following schools:

  • Westside Elementary
  • L. Leo Judice Elementary
  • Scott Middle
  • Acadiana High
  • Judice Middle
  • Charles Burke Elementary
  • Ridge Elementary
  • Ossun Elementary
  • Milton Elementary/Middle

Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS) has taken all necessary safety precautions to ensure the well-being of students and staff. Meals will be served as planned, and bottled water will be available if needed. Students are encouraged to bring a bottle of water from home if they are able.

All schools will be open for regular classes on Monday, January 27.

The only restriction during the advisory is that water from the system should not be consumed until the boil water notice has been lifted. The district will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
