Lafayette, LA (Feburary 24, 2026) – Lafayette Parish School System is proud to announce that Lafayette High School senior Lincoln Trumps has been selected as a finalist for the 2026 Louisiana Student of the Year.
Lincoln is one of just eight 12th grade students across the state chosen as finalists for this prestigious honor. The Louisiana Student of the Year program, administered by the Louisiana Department of Education, recognizes outstanding students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, character, and service to their schools and communities.
Finalists will be honored at an awards ceremony later this school year, where the 2026 Louisiana Student of the Year winner will also be announced. The Louisiana Department of Education will release additional details regarding the ceremony once they are finalized.
“Lincoln’s achievement reflects not only his dedication and hard work, but also the strong support system at Lafayette High and within his family,” said LPSS Superintendent Francis Touchet, Jr. “We are incredibly proud of him and look forward to celebrating this well-deserved recognition.”
Congratulations, Lincoln!
