LAFAYETTE, LA (Jun. 6, 2024) – Following the retirement of Perry Myles, the Lafayette Parish School System is pleased to announce that James Rollins has been selected as the next leader of Northside High School. Rollins states, “I am excited to be selected as the next leader of Northside High School. My team and I look forward to being able to ignite a passion for lifelong discipline and learning for the students of Northside High School.”

With over 25 years of educational experience, Rollins boasts of an extensive background in education leadership, holding administrative roles as assistant principal at W.D. and Mary Baker Smith Career Center, Carencro High School, Lafayette High School, and itinerant assistant principal at Acadiana High School. Most recently, Rollins served as Principal of Lerosen Preparatory School. Earlier in his career, Rollins taught physical science, health, physical education, ACT prep, and world geography.

“Mr. Rollins will unite the Northside community through his proven leadership. He is dedicated to upholding our core values by prioritizing a safe environment, fostering a dynamic culture, expanding opportunities, and driving growth,” Superintendent Francis Touchet Jr states.

Rollins holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education from the University of Louisiana of Lafayette and a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from Southern University of Baton Rouge.
