Lafayette, LA (March 27, 2026) – Two Lafayette Parish School System educators have been named semifinalists for Louisiana’s top education honors.

The Louisiana Department of Education announced its 2026 semifinalists for Teacher and Principal of the Year, recognizing educators across the state for excellence in teaching and leadership.

Representing Lafayette Parish are:

  • Holly Boffy, semifinalist for Louisiana Principal of the Year
  • Alysa Leblanc, semifinalist for Louisiana Teacher of the Year

The program highlights educators who are making a meaningful impact on student growth and helping students access opportunities that prepare them for success.

Superintendent Francis Touchet Jr. praised both educators for their commitment to students:

“Mrs. Boffy and Ms. Leblanc are strong advocates for their students and for public education. They build meaningful relationships, open doors of opportunity, and consistently communicate the value of an LPSS education. We are proud to see their work recognized at the state level.”

Finalists will be announced later this spring, with state honorees recognized at the annual Cecil J. Picard Educator Excellence Awards Gala this summer.
