According to a news report on KLFY, the Youngsville Fire Department (YFD) Board of Directors voted to scale back services to the unincorporated area of Lafayette Parish that is outside of the Youngsville city limits.
According to the news report, Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter stated thirty percent of the calls the Youngsville Fire Department responds to were to the unincorporated areas of the parish. The parish provides only 3.15% of the funding for YFD.
