House Fire at 302 Randolph Street

Lafayette, LA – Lafayette firefighters responded to a house fire in the 300 block of Randolph Street around 8:20 pm last night. When firefighters arrived, smoke was coming from the garage of the single-family dwelling. Emergency crews entered the smoked-filled dwelling. The fire was spreading to the kitchen and living area of the home. The home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage.

No one was home when the fire started. The male occupant indicated that he left about an hour prior. No injuries reported.

Fire officials determined the fire originated in the garage. There was a vehicle in the garage that sustained fire damage a well. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
