LAFAYETTE, LA (July 18, 2024) – Regarding the shooting incident on July 18, 2024, in the 100 block of Bryan Street, initial reports indicate the victim (4/H/M) was accidentally shot by his older brother (10/H/M). This incident will continue to be investigated by the Lafayette Police Department.

LAFAYETTE, LA (July 18, 2024) – On July 18, 2024, at 10:34 a.m., the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 100 block of Bryan Street about an injured four-year-old child. The child was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, where the child was pronounced deceased.
LPD investigators were called to the scene and are actively investigating this incident. Once additional information is obtained, an update will be disseminated.
