Youngsville Suspect Arrested for Attempted Kidnapping in Lafayette

On July 24, 2023, suspect Andrew Keith Panday, a sixty-three-year-old resident of Youngsville, Louisiana, was arrested on one count of attempted kidnapping and booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. 

UPDATE: Homicide Investigation 100 Block of Railroad Street

At around 10:45 p.m. on July 15, 2023, the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 100 block of Railroad Street due to reports of a shooting in progress.

On Sunday night July 9th, 2023 at 11:44 p.m., The Lafayette Police Department responded to the 100 block of Vaucluse Drive, due to reports of a shooting in progress.

Johnston Street, between South City Parkway and Guidry Road, is closed due to a cracked gas line.

On 07/05/2023 at 1:35 p.m., The Lafayette Police Department responded to the 500 block of West Gilman Street, in reference to a shooting incident.

Homicide Investigation on Simcoe Street

On Monday, June 26th, 2023, at 08:42 p.m., The Lafayette Police Department responded to the 300 block of East Simcoe Street regarding a stabbing in progress, upon arrival responding Officers located one victim inside a residence, with multiple apparent stab wounds to their person.

Arrest Made in November’s Homicide

Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested one man in connection to a November homicide in Lafayette Parish.
