LAFAYETTE, La. (Feb. 2, 2024 5:12 p.m.) – In regards to the shooting incident on Ambroise Street this morning, an arrest has been made. Lafayette Police Investigators were able to arrest Clarence Celestine Sr., sixty-four, of Lafayette, Louisiana. Celestine has been charged with one count of attempted 2nd-degree murder and has been booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
This incident remains under investigation.

LAFAYETTE, La. – Lafayette Police officers are currently on the scene of a shooting that occurred this morning, February 2, 2024, at approximately 9:56 a.m. Officers responded to a shooting incident on the 100 block Ambroise Street, where a male victim was located on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body. The male victim has been transported to a local hospital to receive medical care.
Currently, Lafayette Police Investigators are on the scene attempting to gather the facts that led to the shooting, as well as locate potential witnesses. No suspect information is available at this time, and the investigation is ongoing. An update will be provided when more information becomes available.
