LAFAYETTE, LA (August 14, 2024) – In accordance with state law, a public hearing of the Lafayette Parish Tax Assessor will be held to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rate and rolling forward to a millage rate not to exceed the prior year’s maximum. The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from increased millage is $4,647,116 and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase
is $285,391.

The hearing will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the Lafayette Parish Assessor’s Office located at 213 West Vermilion Street, Lafayette, LA 70501. A public meeting to adopt the adjusted millage rate and set forth the adjusted millage rate(s) and roll forward to millage rate(s) not exceeding the maximum authorized rate(s) will be held immediately following the public hearing.
