LAFAYETTE, LA (January 20, 2025) – These are important phone numbers to dial if you require assistance in Lafayette Parish.

911 – Emergency Services. Anyone experiencing or witnessing an emergency should dial 911 as this continues to be the destination to request police, fire, or emergency medical services.

311 – Service Requests. Consider this number a reporting hotline – power outage, downed power line, water/wastewater issue, etc. Lafayette Consolidated Government streamlined the voice menu and are no longer directing individuals to multiple phone numbers. 311 should cover just about everything with a live representative on the other end of the line (answering services will be assisting with top reported issues as well).

211 – Community Resource Hotline. Facilitated by 232-HELP, this number is a resource for general information (shelter details, healthcare needs, food resources, etc.). Individuals seeking warming shelter transportation services can also dial this number and be connected to a dispatcher to facilitate transport to the Dupuis Recreation Center.
