Pinhook Road Construction Project Begins Next Week

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PINHOOK ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT BEGINS NEXT WEEK

Lafayette, LA – A mile-long stretch of Pinhook Road, from Dorset Street to Jomela Drive, will soon be resurfaced, resulting in a much smoother ride for drivers. Construction will be completed in two phases beginning on Monday, April 10, 2023 and continuing for approximately three months, weather permitting.

The first phase involves drainage improvements along side streets near the Oil Center during daytime hours. Traffic flow on Pinhook will be virtually unaffected aside from a couple of days of temporary one-lane closures.

Once crews move into phase two — removing and replacing the asphalt road surface — work will shift to nighttime hours to lessen traffic delays. During phase two construction, drivers can expect delays due to lane closures and detour routes.

It’s unknown when Phase Two will begin, but we will give notice before the resurfacing portion of the project begins.
