Just before 3:00 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to reports of “shots being fired” near the intersection of West Congress and University Avenue.

One Homicide, One Injured Over Shots

The victim from this morning’s homicide has been identified as Raylon Mason 22, of St. Martinville, LA.

Pet Adoption Fees Waived

Pet adoption fees at the Lafayette Animal Shelter and Care Center (LASCC) will be waived from May 1 to May 15.

UPDATE: US 167 Lane Closure Between Holden and LA 3025

The eastbound outside lane of US 167 (Johnston Street) between Holden Avenue and LA 3025 (Bertrand Drive), will be closed on Thursday, May 4 from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., weather permitting.

UPDATE: US 167 SB from Glouchester to Westmark Lane Closure

US 167 (Johnston Street) southbound right lane from Glouchester Road to Westmark Blvd. will be closed on Monday, May 1 and Tuesday, May 2 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.
