Lafayette LA – The Lafayette Police Department is proud to partner with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission in a ‘Special Wave’ enforcement endeavor targeting drivers and occupants not wearing safety belts while traveling on the roadway. This particular traffic enforcement is due to the projected increase of motorists traveling on roadways during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
This ‘Special Wave’ is called “Click It or Ticket” and begins on Saturday, November 18, 2023, and will conclude on Saturday, November 25, 2023. During this initiative, the Lafayette Police Department will conduct high-visibility patrols within the incorporated city limits of Lafayette. It will respond with zero tolerance to those drivers and passengers found not to be wearing safety belts while the vehicle is being operated on a roadway.
