2024-2027 INAUGURATION / CEREMONY SET FOR LAFAYETTE MAYOR-PRESIDENT, LAFAYETTE CITY COUNCIL & LAFAYETTE PARISH COUNCIL
LAFAYETTE, La. (Dec. 20, 2023) – The Oath of Office Ceremony for the inauguration of the incoming Lafayette Mayor-President, the Lafayette City Council, and Lafayette Parish Council will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Cajundome Convention Center located at 444 Cajundome Boulevard in Lafayette, Louisiana.
This larger venue allows for greater seating capacity, as the public is invited and encouraged to attend. The entire ceremony will be broadcast live via Acadiana Open Channel (AOC) on Cox Channel 15 and LUS Fiber Channel 3, in addition to aocinc.org/watch, where access will also be provided to a live stream feed via YouTube link.
The first Regular City Council and Parish Council Meetings for the newly sworn-in elected officials will be held in the Council Auditorium at Lafayette City-Parish Hall, 705 West University Avenue in Lafayette, on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, as follows:
- Lafayette Parish Council meeting at 4:30 p.m.
- Lafayette City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m.
If a Joint meeting is called, notice will be posted in advance. Again, all are welcome and encouraged to attend the ceremony at the Cajundome Convention Center on January 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.
