House fire 102 West Gilman Street

LAFAYETTE, La. (Jan. 8.,2024) – Lafayette firefighters responded to a house fire in the 100 block of West Gilman Street at 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2024. The dwelling was a vacant single-family home. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the house was fully involved. Emergency crews were able to get the fire under control within ten minutes. The home sustained heavy fire damage.

According to neighbors, the home has been vacant for several months. Unknown individuals were seen going in and out of the structure. There were no utilities supplied to the dwelling.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
