ARRESTS MADE: One Dead from Shooting on Rials Drive

LAFAYETTE, LA (Mar. 27, 2024) – Two Lafayette men identified as Bryan Jenkins, twenty-nine, and James George, twenty-nine, were arrested by Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Deputies on March 26, 2024, and charged with First Degree Murder and Attempted First-Degree Murder.

The arrests stem from the January 12, 2024, shooting in the 300 block of Rials Drive that left one dead and one injured. Two victims were located at the scene, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital where one victim, twenty-four-year-old Jaquan Calais,  succumbed to his injuries. The second victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

LAFAYETTE, La. (Jan. 13, 2024) – The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Friday night shooting that left one dead and one injured.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Rials Drive at approximately 10:30 p.m. about the shooting.

Two victims were located at the scene, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital where one victim succumbed to their injuries. The second victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The deceased victim has been identified as twenty-four-year-old Juquan Calais.

This case remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
