ORIGINAL

BATON ROUGE, La. (Jan. 15, 2024, 8:39 p.m.) – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that as a result of winter weather impacts, Interstate 10 is now closed in the east and westbound direction from La. 415 (Lobdell) to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge in St. Martin Parish.

Motorists are advised to stay off the roadways as many roads are becoming impassable due to the winter weather conditions.

If travel is essential, DOTD urges motorists to use extra caution when traveling on roadways during hazardous weather conditions, especially while traveling over bridges and elevated roadways, and stay off the roads whenever possible.

DOTD crews will continue to monitor state bridges and roadways.
