Lafayette’s local pétanque club, La Boule Cadienne de Lafayette, will be hosting its 13th Annual Pétanque Tournament on the first weekend of March 2024. All are invited.
Where: Girard Park pétanque courts at the opposite end of park from the duck pond (near St. Mary Boulevard
When: March 1-3, 2024. See daily schedule below.
What:
- Similar to bocce, a traditional French lawn bowling game using les boules (iron balls) on hard-packed earth.
- 2-member teams, any age or gender. We’ll pair you up if you don’t have a partner.
Who:
- 1st-time players
- Casual players
- Members of other pétanque clubs in the USA and abroad
- Ages 7 and above. (Players under 16 must be accompanied by an adult).
Cost:
- $20 per person tournament fee, payable on Eventbrite.com (Pre-registration required by Thursday, Feb 29, 2024)
- Includes Cajun jambalaya for lunch
- Equipment can be borrowed from the club for free
- $15 per person after-party fee, payable on Eventbrite.com
