Cassidy Announces $8.3 Million for SW LA in Hurricane Laura Relief

WASHINGTON (Mar. 1, 2024) – United States Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative, Inc. will receive $8,352,875.70 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for permanent repairs to the Michigan-Wisconsin Substation as a result of Hurricane Laura.

“Hurricane Laura made Louisiana stronger and more resilient,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will make needed repairs to Southwest Louisiana’s energy transmission systems and better prepare our communities for future storms.”
