YOUNGSVILLE, LA (Mar. 14, 2024) – The Youngsville Police Department now has an Rx Drop Box for old or unused prescription medication. Unused and discarded medications (pills) can be a potential risk of abuse or environmental contamination. The Drop box is located in the front lobby of the Youngsville Police Department at 311 Lafayette Street, Youngsville, Louisiana.

The drop box will be available during office business hours to anyone in need.

Business Hours:

  • Monday through Thursday: 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Friday: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Please have all medications in the original plastic pill bottle or a sealed Ziploc bag before disposing. Please see the list below for items that are accepted and NOT ACCEPTED.

  • Prescription Meds (Pills)
  • Over-the-counter medications (Pills)
  • Vitamins (Pills & gel caps)
  • Medications for pets (pills & gel caps)

**ALL MEDICATIONS MUST BE IN PLASTIC BOTTLE OR ZIPLOC BAG BEFORE DISPOSAL

NOT – ACCEPTED

  • Needles (Sharps)
  • Thermometers
  • Inhalers
  • Ointments, lotions, or Liquids
  • Prescription medicated patches
  • Liquids of any kind
