Vehicle Fires at Dien’s Auto Salvage

LAFAYETTE, LA (Mar. 28, 2024) – Lafayette firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at 6157 Johnston Street, Dien’s Auto Salvage, at 3:15 a.m. this morning. When firefighters arrived, multiple vehicles were on fire in the parking lot. Five vehicles and a utility trailer were parked next to one another. Fire crews extinguished the fires within 20 minutes.  

Someone driving by on Johnston Street reported the fire. At the time, only one vehicle was on fire. The fire spread to the adjacent vehicles, causing substantial fire damage. The fires did not damage the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
