BROUSSARD, LA (May 21, 2024) – The Broussard Police Department was recently awarded a grant through the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission to promote High Visibility Traffic Enforcement for Occupant Protection.
During the National Highway Traffic Safety Association and Louisiana Highway Safety Commission Click It or Ticket Traffic Safety Campaign, additional officers will be on duty with a focus to lower vehicle occupant injuries and fatalities by enforcement of child passenger restraint and occupant restraint laws.
While this year’s Click it or Ticket campaign runs from May 20 through June 2, officers are always enforcing seat belt laws year-round, day and night.Chief Olivier restates the goal of this proactive movement is to protect all that travel within the City of Broussard and to ensure that the members of the community remain safe.
