Personal injury attorney Glenn Armentor of Lafayette, Louisiana, has been giving his “Pay It Forward” Scholarship of Excellence to high school graduates over the last fifteen years. The selection committee awards these scholarships to academically superior students in need who have overcome obstacles and setbacks.
Over $860,000 has been contributed to the scholarship program for students attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, South Louisiana Community College, and Louisiana State University Law School.
Today, Armentor presented scholarship awards to Lola Bowen from Erath High School, Hermione Mayfield from Crowley High School, David Tran from Abbeville High School, and Emily Bourque from Acadiana High School.
“They will have a chance to do the things that I’m doing now, assisting ‘at risk’ young people without the funds to attend college, to enter university studies for which they are academically gifted. All of them have an opportunity, as a result, to pay it forward themselves,” said Glenn Armentor.
Along with Armentor, law partner Christian Lewis, retired Federal Judge Richard Haik, State Senator Gerald Boudreaux, State Representative Troy Hebert, Darla Montgomery from KLFY TV10, Marcel Fontenot of KADN TV15, Jasmine Thibodeaux of KATC TV3, and Christiaan Mader of the Current were among those on hand to congratulate and speak to the students.
