LAFAYETTE, LA (June 24, 2024, 4:51 p.m.) – The victim in this incident has been identified as a 30-year-old male, Kendrick Green, of Lafayette, Louisiana. One suspect has been arrested in connection with this homicide. The suspect is a 17-year-old male from Lafayette. He has been booked into the Lafayette Juvenile Detention Center on one count of 2nd-degree murder. Prior to the shooting the victim and suspect were engaged in an argument that escalated when the suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim.

LAFAYETTE, LA (June 23, 2024) – At around 7:29 p.m., the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 400 block of Justin Street about a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. LPD Officers arrived on the scene and began life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. Once on scene paramedics continued life saving measures, the male victim had succumbed to his injuries sustained during the shooting and was later pronounced dead on scene. A crime scene was established, and investigators were called out. The incident remains under investigation, as LPD Investigators are working diligently to determine investigative leads.
The male victim’s information shall be provided once the proper protocol has been followed regarding next of kin notification.
