Submitted by Cody Louviere, Youngsville Polic Chief Candidate
YOUNGSVILLE, LA (June 24, 2024) – Cody Louviere is excited to announce his candidacy for the position of Chief of Police in Youngsville. With over 22 years dedicated to law enforcement and community safety, Cody brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to serving the citizens of Youngsville.
Louviere began his law enforcement career as a Reserve Deputy for the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, volunteering his time to learn and protect his community. Throughout his career, he has risen through the ranks, serving as Deputy, K9 Handler, Patrol Staff Sergeant, and Patrol Lieutenant. His dedication to leadership and community service has been a constant driving force in his professional journey.
“I believe that leadership transcends titles and ranks,” says Louviere. “From the newest recruit to the highest official, everyone has the potential to lead. True leadership involves recognizing and nurturing the strengths of your team, listening to them, and involving them in planning and decision-making.”
In August 2023, Louivere achieved a significant milestone when he was unanimously appointed Interim Chief of Police for the Youngsville Police Department. As a single father of two daughters who grew up in this community, he finds it humbling to be in a leadership role at a department that ensures the safety of not only his family but also the entire community.
During his tenure as Interim Chief, the department has made notable progress. This includes the implementation of a state-of-the-art body cam system and the creation of a safe exchange zone for citizens to conduct child exchanges and online transactions safely. Cody’s goal as Chief of Police is to provide the best service to the city in the most professional manner, ensuring that the department remains at the forefront of training and equipping officers with the tools they need to perform their jobs effectively
As a 12-year resident of Youngsville, Cody is deeply invested in the future of both the agency and the city. He asks for your support and vote in this year’s upcoming election so that he may continue to serve as your Chief of Police and keep moving the department in a positive direction.
