While the Youngsville Rotary Club members may seem to be just having fun, they have fun by engaging in service work for their community. After all, Rotary’s mottos are “Service Above Self” and “People of Action”.

The club has sponsored various fundraising events and has utilized the funds to grant scholarships to local graduates, provide grants to local non-profit organizations, and contribute to an International Wheelchair Project in Trinidad.

Some of the fundraising events include:

  • Patch at the Pond (the one in 2024 is called Patch at the Park) is a fun family day out.
  • Pickle and Pints, a pickleball tournament.
  • Silent Auction Fundraising. Money from the Silent Auction was donated to Prodigy for art and school supplies; Prodigy classes made artwork for the Silent Auction.
  • Other fundraisers are coming down the pipeline.

When the club is not fundraising or awarding money, members are actively involved in community service. Club members volunteer monthly at St. Joseph Diner, hold a Winter Coat Drive for kids and a Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive, participate annually in Keeping Youngsville Beautiful for Litter Pickup Day, sponsor local children during Christmas to provide them with gifts, and contribute to the Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy (ARCA) in the form of solar glasses to view the 2024 eclipse.

Jamie Creed was recently inducted as Club President for 2024/2025 at the Club’s Annual Banquet on June 24, 2024. Creed succeeds the outgoing president, Ken Stansbury, for 2023/2024; Nicholas Niland is the President-Elect for 2025/2026.

For anyone interested in joining the Rotary Club of Youngsville, meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at KK’s Cafe, 905 Savoy Road, Youngsville, Louisiana.
