Youngsville Shooting Suspect Found in Indiana

YOUNGSVILLE, LA (October 16, 2024) – On May 9, 2024, the Youngsville Police Department responded to a call of shots being fired in the 200 block of Forest Grove Drive in Youngsville. After an extensive investigation, it was learned that the suspect, 18-year-old black male Jason Raymond Jones Jr., had fired several rounds at another individual in Forest Grove. No one was injured in this incident.

An arrest warrant was secured for Jason Jones for attempted second-degree Murder.  Jason was subsequently located in Indiana and arrested on this active warrant. The Youngsville Police Department is currently in the process of having Jason extradited back to the state in order for him to be booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and face his active charges.
