LPSO Makes Narcotics Arrest with Help from BPD

LAFAYETTE, LA and BROUSSARD, LA (January 15, 2025) – A Lafayette Parish man is under arrest due to an investigation by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section.

Upon executing a search warrant in the 200 block of Leon Street with the assistance of the Broussard Police Department Wednesday morning, narcotics agents located approximately 1.6 pounds of Cocaine, 3.3 pounds of Marijuana, more than $8,000 in U.S. currency, and drug paraphernalia.

James Johnson, 45, was arrested and charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substances, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substances, Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances in a School Zone.

Johnson was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the aforementioned charges.
