We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who knocked on doors, made phone calls, supported, voted, and believed in this campaign and what we stand for. You gave your time, your energy, and your hearts to this race, and we are forever grateful.
Throughout this journey, we chose to take the high road—not because it was easy, but because it was right. We knew our children, our communities, and future leaders were watching. We knew the example we set in how we campaign is just as important as the policies for which we advocate. As we reflect this morning – we are proud of the campaign we ran—one based on integrity, honesty, decency, and above all else – respect for our fellow man – just as our Creator taught us.
We chose to speak on the issues affecting the people of the district. We spoke of ways to improve lives and build a better community that will not just keep our kids here, but also attract families from other States to join us in Louisiana. Ultimately, we spoke about building people up; not tearing each other down.
Today, we are anxious to move forward – bringing our community back together – stronger and more determined than ever. The issues we set out to fight for and the people whose lives they will improve are awaiting our efforts at this very moment.
This race is over – but our focus and dedication to the people who we have been meeting with on doorsteps and over phones is far from it. That job starts right now. Because the future is shaped not by those who win or lose elections, but rather by those who fight with constant focus for what is honest and good.
We won. And we did it with honor. True honor. I’m so proud of our community for standing on the side of honesty and integrity. Every moment we will strive to be worthy of the trust our neighbors placed in us last night, as we press on to a better Louisiana.
Thank you for the opportunity to EARN your vote.
