YOUNGSVILLE, LA (April 12, 2025) — Let’s play ball! Opening Day 2025 for baseball, softball, and tee-ball was held on Saturday, April 12 at the Youngsville Sports Complex, with excitement filling the air on the Supreme Rice Field.
The morning began with an invocation by Pastor Joe Cormier of First Assembly Youngsville, followed by a presentation of the colors by VFW Post 9210. Charley Cache delivered a beautiful performance of the National Anthem, setting the tone for a memorable day.
One of the day’s most exciting moments came when the ceremonial baseballs and softballs arrived from above—delivered by the Air Evac Lifeteam, who landed in the outfield to a round of applause. The first pitches were then thrown by Tara Baudoin of Love Acadiana and Ken Meyers, a proud Ragin’ Cajuns Baseball Hall of Famer.
Opening Day 2025 was a celebration of sports, community, and tradition—another great example of what makes Youngsville such a special place.
