Broussard, LA (May 5, 2025) – The City of Broussard has free sandbags for residents preparing for expected heavy rains that could cause flooding over the next few days.
“We are providing our residents free sandbags to get ready for the possibility of flooding caused by these storms, due to roll through our area, as forecasted by the National Weather Service,” said Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque.
“We are offering this assistance to help mitigate property damage, but most of all, we want everyone to be safe. Do not drive through flooded streets and roadways.”
Sand and sandbags are available at the following locations:
- • Broussard City Hall – 310 East Main Street (behind dumpsters)
- • Deer Meadow Subdivision – corner of Deer Meadow Boulevard and Myette Point
- • Broadview Drive – by the Broussard Community Center
These sandbag stations are self-bagging and are open until the threat of heavy rain has passed. Residents will need to supply their own shovel and manpower. ##
