Broussard, LA (June 4, 2025) – The City of Broussard is pleased to announce, in partnership with the City of Youngsville, the opening of the long-awaited Broussard/Youngsville Connector. This new stretch of road links West Fairfield Road to Youngsville Highway.

“The Broussard/Youngsville Connector now joins four state highways,” said Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque. “It will further improve traffic flow, reduce commuter travel times, and stimulate economic development opportunities for Broussard.”
The city completed a quarter-mile extension of W. Fairfield Road from Sylvester Road to the Broussard/Youngsville city line in 2024. As Youngsville continues construction on the roundabout for the new road on Youngsville Highway, motorists will be able to access the connector as a faster route between the two cities.
“This project is a great example of what can be accomplished when neighboring communities work together,” said Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter. “Improving road infrastructure and traffic flow doesn’t stop at city limits; it takes regional cooperation and a shared vision. We’re proud to partner with the City of Broussard to provide more efficient and reliable routes for our residents and continue meeting the demands of growth in southern Lafayette Parish.”
“The connector is long overdue. It will enhance connectivity and accessibility within our city and will continue to keep pace with our rapid growth,” said Mayor Bourque. “We fully support Youngsville’s efforts to expedite completion of their remaining part of the project.”
