Broussard, LA (June 23, 2025) – On June 21, 2025, at approximately 10:19 PM, Officers with the Broussard Police Department responded to Hwy 90 at Ambassador Caffery Parkway for a major crash involving two vehicles.
Upon officers’ arrival, it was found that the driver of vehicle #1, identified as a Mazda 3, was headed south on Ambassador Caffery Parkway when they disregarded the red signal light for an unknown reason, causing a collision with vehicle #2, identified as an 18-Wheeler, who was traveling East on Hwy 90. As a result of this crash, both the Driver and Passenger of the Mazda 3 succumbed to injuries. The driver of vehicle #2 was not injured.
Names of the deceased are not being released until the next of kin is notified. Currently, details are limited as the investigation is ongoing.
