UPDATE: (February 6, 2026) – The suspect, identified as Dylan Green, is the victim’s grandson.
Youngsville, LA (February 6, 2026) – On February 6, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Youngsville Police Department received a report of a stolen white SUV from the 200 block of Fourth Street within the city limits of Youngsville, Louisiana.
With the assistance of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Real Time Crime Center, officers were able to quickly locate the stolen vehicle. A suspect was apprehended following a pursuit involving a Youngsville Police Department unit.
Shortly thereafter, officers received an additional call from the 200 block of Fourth Street regarding an unresponsive female. Upon arrival and during the ongoing investigation, officers discovered one female deceased inside the residence. The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
At this time, one suspect is in custody. The suspect has been identified as Dylan Green, a 20-year-old male. Mr. Green will be booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:
- Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle
- Aggravated Flight from an Officer
- First Degree Murder
The victim has been identified as Thelma Thibeaux, a 70-year-old female.
