Over the past ten years, Broussard, Louisiana has seen remarkable growth and development. From infrastructure improvements to economic expansion and civic recognition, the city has worked diligently to meet the needs of its residents while preparing for the future.

Upgrading Infrastructure & Public Services

Broussard has made major strides in strengthening its public infrastructure. In 2025, the city received a $3.7 million state grant for comprehensive water system upgrades, including storage expansion, pipeline replacement, and enhanced capacity to serve a growing population. That same year, the city’s water systems earned an A grade from the Louisiana Department of Health, reflecting the success of these efforts.

Additionally, the Broussard Public Service Complex officially opened in 2025, consolidating police, fire, public works, and training operations into a modern facility near Highway 90. This step has improved coordination and efficiency across essential city services.

Planning for Future Growth

The city continues to focus on strategic growth. The ongoing Envision Downtown Broussard Main Street Corridor Master Plan aims to revitalize historic downtown areas through streetscape improvements, beautification, and infrastructure upgrades.

Broussard has also acquired key properties to support future municipal needs, including plans for a new City Hall and expanded downtown facilities, reflecting foresight in governance and community planning.

Economic Development Momentum

Economic development has been a priority. In 2025, Broussard added two new Certified Sites, bringing the total to eight ready-to-develop locations—positioning the city as a prime location for business growth and job creation.

Community Recognition & Quality of Life

Broussard’s efforts extend beyond infrastructure. The city is frequently ranked among the Top 10 Safest Cities in Louisiana, a testament to strong public safety initiatives.

The community also celebrates local achievements. In 2024, the St. Cecelia Blue Jays football team was formally recognized by the City Council for their outstanding performance, reflecting local pride and community engagement.

Looking Ahead

Broussard’s accomplishments over the past decade—modernized infrastructure, economic readiness, strong public safety, and community recognition—lay a solid foundation for the future. As the city grows, these achievements demonstrate a commitment to progress while maintaining the unique character and spirit of the community.
