Boulet Appoints George Marks to Lead International Trade and Development Efforts

Lafayette, LA (April 7, 2026) – According to a news release from Lafayette Consolidated Government,Monique B. Boulet has appointed George Marks as Director of International Trade and Development for Lafayette Consolidated Government, effective April 6, 2026.

Marks will oversee the Lafayette International Center, with responsibilities that include developing international partnerships, expanding trade opportunities, and promoting Lafayette’s cultural and economic interests abroad.

Marks is the founder and CEO of NUNU Arts & Culture Collective. According to the administration, he brings more than two decades of experience in cultural development, economic strategy, and international collaboration.

His background includes work on cultural exchange initiatives with partners in France, Martinique, and Guadeloupe, as well as participation in international trade missions and policy discussions.

In the role, Marks is expected to focus on strengthening international trade connections, supporting local businesses seeking access to global markets, and promoting Lafayette as a destination for cultural exchange, tourism, and economic collaboration.

The Lafayette International Center also serves as a point of contact for international delegations and organizations interested in engaging with the region.

The appointment is part of the Boulet administration’s ongoing efforts to expand Lafayette’s international engagement and economic development strategy.
