Gator Mating Call Captured on Video

April 2026 – A routine fishing trip at Lake Martin in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, turned into a close encounter with a massive alligator, captured by Mike Castille, as gators could be heard making mating calls across the water.

“At first glance, its head looked like a big piece of driftwood until we got close enough to realize it was a massive gator,” Castille said. “That growl sounds like a 454 big block on a cold crank.”
