Lafayette, LA (April 27, 2026) – Acadian Ambulance launched a First Responder Autism Resource Kit on April 17, 2026, a collection of tools designed to support first responders when interacting with individuals with autism during emergencies.

The project is the result of a growing collaboration between Acadian Ambulance, Aspire Behavioral Health, Louisiana State Representative Annie Spell, local law enforcement agencies, and nonprofit organizations that provide services and resources to support individuals with special needs. Together, these partners have spent months building a system intended to strengthen preparedness, compassion, and accessibility for families across the region.

Acadian Ambulance states that this initiative is only the beginning. Ongoing education, community follow-ups, and continued collaboration are expected to ensure the Resource Kit remains a living, evolving support system for families and first responders.
