Southside High School senior Nevaeh Naqui Ire’ Williams has been named the 74th Annual Lafayette Kiwanis Club Jamboree Queen, an honor that celebrates a Lafayette Parish student and gives her the opportunity to represent her school during one of the community’s longest-running high school football traditions.
A Youngsville resident, Nevaeh is known for her caring nature, creativity and compassion for others. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career that allows her to use those qualities to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
In her free time, Nevaeh enjoys drawing and painting scenes inspired by nature, listening to music and taking evening walks. Family is especially important to her, and she dreams of one day creating a home filled with family, laughter and lasting memories.
For 74 years, the Kiwanis Club of Lafayette has selected a student with special needs to serve as Jamboree Queen, providing an opportunity for each young woman to shine while representing her school and family.
The annual Kiwanis Lafayette Football Jamboree will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 27, and Friday, Aug. 28, with games beginning at 6 p.m. each night.
